Rotary announcement for high school students interested in spending a year abroad...

Application deadline: March 1st.

A Rotary academic year high school (long term) exchange student travels abroad and attends school in the host country for a full year. They also have opportunities to participate in camps, meetings, and trips in their host country. They will also be immersed in the language and culture of that country. The student ambassador will be hosted by a local Rotary club and 1-4 families approved by Rotary. The host Rotary Club provides a monthly stipend equivalent to $75-$100. This is an enriching experience for the student and an opportunity to develop lifelong friendships. Universities recognize the value of greater self-reliance and social maturity student acquire during their year abroad...(more in attached PRE-application).

Being a trained leader includes not only Youth Protection Training, but also:

  • Scoutmaster / Assistant Scoutmaster Training and
  • Introduction to Outdoor Skills.

In recognition for Troop 301's committment to help beautify the Dorland Mountain Arts Colony, they awarded our Troop with a plaque at the Summer Court of Honor.  See the attached picture of the award.
