Tahquitz District is hosting their annual recruiting event again, this year will be especially unique as it will host both Cub and Troop Scout units. The goal is to share what scouting is all about while spreading scout spirit, the Troop is asking for scouts as well any and all leaders who can help run a booth to assist in both table games and answer any questions. The event will be held on Oct. 24th at the Alta Murrieta Sports Park from 10am - 4pm (public hours 11am-3pm).

On November 7th the Colorado Desert Archaeology Society of the Anza-Borrego, Rancho Cuyamaca and Palomar Mountain, State Parks are hosting a Free cultural and historical day. There will be multiple activities, and demonstrations being presented throughout the day. The event will be held at the Anza-Borrego visitor center from 9am to 3:30pm, this will be a great opportunity to learn about our area’s cultures.

Lake Village’s 2nd annual Christmas Boat Parade is planned for December 13th at 6pm and the Committee of Lake Village is asking for sign-ups. For anyone interested in decorating a boat, Kayak, Canoe, Sailboat or Battleship to please register your craft and join in the festivities. This can be a fun way for the Scouts to give back to Lake Village Community and decorate a vessel with a scout theme and cheer on the rest!

The Troop elections will be held on Oct. 19th during our Monday meeting. Since the voting event is soon upon us, take this opportunity for those scouts working on their next rank to think about what each position within the Troop or even your own patrol that you haven’t yet held, and or what it represents to take on that position. Be prepared to bring a few ideas to vote.

the Troop will be hosting a fun day out to go bowling. On Oct. 11th Scouts and Leaders who are able to attend can join in the activity. The goal will be to gather as a Troop outside our normal to test your skills, and for those scouts who haven’t yet earned their spots Merit Badge can add to the fun and learn along the way. Details and cost to follow very soon.

The Troop’s Celebration is this Sunday the 4th. We are asking for everyone’s help to make this a memorable experience, this is not just for the current scouts and, leaders but for all who will be in attendance. As a reminder the festivities will be at Harveston Park, on the northwest end by the sports fields under the Gazebos. We will be arriving before 2pm to set up
